MIAMI, FL —The Rachlin Foundation recently honored four South Florida organizations with donations totaling $50,000.00 through the Planned Giving program at Rachlin LLP.
The Children’s Home Society, Daily Bread Food Bank, Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation/Dan Marino Center and University of Miami/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center were recognized for their contributions to the South Florida community at the Riverside Hotel during the first annual Rachlin planned giving program luncheon.
Rachlin LLP is the only Florida-based accounting firm with a planned giving program and a foundation. The planned giving program offers employees the opportunity to make payroll deductions towards the charity or charities of their choice.
“Rachlin takes pride in being a trend setter with community initiatives,” said CEO Larry Blum. “Companies can always write checks, but when employees give of their time, and from there, open up their pockets, it shows the commitment we have to making South Florida a better place to live.”
During the year 2006, the Rachlin Foundation raised more than $85,000.00. The Foundation board of directors is led by Executive Director Suzanne Leslie, the Rachlin LLP marketing director, and includes representation by Rachlin employees and community leaders.
“Our employees have rallied together as a team to achieve the goal of making a difference in South Florida,” said Leslie. “We have established the planned giving program so employees may go the extra mile and help those who are less fortunate.”
