Rachlin Foundation Helps Build Homes for Habitat for Humanity of Broward

Fort Lauderdale , FL— On Saturday, June 16, 15 volunteers representing the Rachlin Foundation helped in a home-building project for Habitat for Humanity of Broward. The volunteers painted, planted trees and installed roof shingles for eight homes in Pompano Beach.

“Giving back to the communities we serve is a priority at Rachlin,” said Lawrence Blum, chairman of the Rachlin Foundation board of directors and managing partner of Rachlin Cohen & Holtz. “We consider it a privilege to help local families in need through community service projects such as this that can help improve their quality of life.”

The Rachlin Foundation plans to hold another home-building project with Habitat for Humanity of Broward in July.

About the Rachlin Foundation
The Rachlin Foundation was established in 2005 as a way to support charitable organizations within the South Florida community. Team members from the firm Rachlin Cohen & Holtz LLP are actively involved in the selection of causes. They participate in a variety of fundraising activities throughout the year, offering their time and money to charities that are dear to them. Rachlin LLP matches dollar for dollar for every team member donation made. Through team members’ contributions and matching donations, the Rachlin Foundation raised more than $85,000 in 2006.

Recently, the Rachlin Foundation launched a Planned Giving Program, a voluntary program where Rachlin Cohen & Holtz team members can have donations deducted directly from their paychecks. These donations are distributed quarterly to four South Florida non-profit organizations that support causes in these categories: healthcare, children’s welfare, the elderly and poverty. Rachlin is the only Florida-based accounting and advisory firm that has a charitable giving program of this kind.
