Fort Lauderdale , FL—On Saturday, May 12, 29 volunteers representing the Rachlin Foundation helped in a home-building project for Habitat for Humanity of Broward. The volunteers installed roof shingles, painted the interior and installed insulation in eight homes in Pompano Beach.

“One of our firm’s core values is giving back to the community,” said Lawrence Blum, the chairman of the Rachlin Foundation board of directors as well as managing partner of Rachlin LLP. “We are proud to help Habitat for Humanity of Broward build safe, decent homes for families in need.”

This summer, the Rachlin Foundation plans to hold two more home-building projects with Habitat for Humanity of Broward: one in June and another in July.

About the Rachlin Foundation
The Rachlin Foundation was established in 2005 as a way to support charitable organizations within the South Florida community. Team members from the firm Rachlin LLP are actively involved in the selection of causes. They participate in a variety of fundraising activities throughout the year, offering their time and money to charities that are dear to them. Rachlin LLP matches dollar for dollar for every team member donation made. Through team members’ contributions and matching donations, the Rachlin Foundation raised more than $85,000 in 2006.

Recently, the Rachlin Foundation launched a Planned Giving Program, a voluntary program where Rachlin LLP team members can have donations deducted directly from their paychecks. These donations are distributed quarterly to four South Florida non-profit organizations that support causes in these categories: healthcare, children’s welfare, the elderly and poverty. Rachlin is the only Florida-based accounting and advisory firm that has a charitable giving program of this kind.
